Something Bigger ...

It appears the elections may have taken a turn for the larger scale, if the story in the link below is true. Commentary on this issue to follow.

Tom O'Brady - For a moment I thought the report might have got someone sensible in to comment. No such luck, just the Labour Club chair with his name misspelt.

This is complete nonsense. Mark Ballard has had absolutely nothing to do with Adam's election campaign. Adam has access to the parliament because he sits on a cross-party group - as any member of the public could if they wanted.
Tom O'Brady's accusation that Mark Ballard is "subverting democracy", and Josh Macalister's suggestion that Ballard would not fully support and work well with the new president, are both ridiculous and totally unfounded.
This article is irresponsible, hypocritical, and politically motivated. It does not contain a shred of news, but rather is an empty accusation at our rector, with the purpose of giving certain students a political platform.

"seems to me that if you're not a green you're fucked" - why do you say that?
Firstly, Adam is the only green running for a sab position. There are at least five times as many labour candidates.
Secondly, he is blatantly NOT getting support from the likes of Ballard.
If he wins, then it's because people prefer his experience and policies.

how can they prefer his policies... they're running on the same wretched platform.

All these anonymous comments - no one got the balls to put their names to their words?

Well I'll repeat what anonomous #2 said.
The article slurs our rector without a shred of justification. It attributes opinions to being "widely believed by students" when it was obviously written by a couple of students who are openly campaigning for Josh.
I filmed the whole of Adam's video, and I assure you that I never had any contact with the likes of Ballard. Many students have access to the parliament - including Tom O'Grady who so accuses Adam in the article. We literally just went in and took the first empty room. That's hardly enough to support such wild, insubstantiated, and untrue claims of electoral corruption?
And to anonymous #7 re the "stop labour students" website, I couldn't agree with you more.
